Services for Gay and Bisexual Men Aged 50 and Over

Ageing does not spare gay and bisexual people either. In a scene that is partly dominated by younger people, older gay and bisexual men are often barely noticed. Leisure activities specifically for this group of men are rare, yet absolutely essential. Social science research has shown that older people in particular are prone to loneliness, which in turn can have a significant impact on their mental health. Mann-O-Meter has recognised this and created various initiatives for older gay and bisexual men.

“Leisure and Social Group 50+”
Participants meet at the Mann-O-Meter. From there, they set off on museum visits, picnics in the Tiergarten, historical city walks, games of badminton in the park and much more. This gives them the chance to explore the city together and talk about topics relevant to their own lives. But there’s plenty of fun to be had too! The Leisure and Social Group 50+ offers a varied programme for anyone over 50. Anyone interested can drop in and join in without booking in advance – every first and third Saturday of the month at 2 pm.

“The Monday Players”
If you enjoy playing cards, board games, dice games or strategy games and would like to meet new people whilst doing so, this is the place for you! Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, young or old – just pop in and join in – every Monday at 5.30 pm.

“Café Doppelherz”

At Café Doppelherz, a friendly group gets together at the Mann-O-Meter for coffee and cake at reasonable prices. Older gay and bisexual men can meet other men here, have a chat and share experiences. Anyone interested is welcome to drop in and join in without booking in advance – every Tuesday from 5 pm.
