Voluntary Work
Mann-O-Meter was founded by gay men to provide information, advice and support to other gay and bisexual men, on a voluntary basis, specifically regarding HIV and AIDS. The organisation’s work later became more professional and specialised. Full-time staff were brought on board; they now coordinate the various areas of work and are accountable to the association’s board.
We foster a spirit of cooperation between paid and voluntary staff, and regard our volunteers as a valuable resource without whom the work at our centre could not be carried out. Our many volunteers are, and will always be, the indispensable backbone of Mann-O-Meter’s work.
Volunteers at our centre join a working group, or ‘AG’ for short. Each working group is responsible for clearly defined tasks. You can get involved with us in the areas of information and advice, the prison service, youth work, victim support or public relations.
In short: we offer a wide range of voluntary opportunities.
